installando un paio di software, e leggendo le descrizioni di altri, mi
sono imbattuto in apmd, e facendo
# apt-cache show apmd
tra le altre cose, ho letto:
Recent Debian kernels are built with APM support but it is disabled
by default. You need to boot the kernel with the "apm=on" option if
you want to enable the driver. (You may need to add this option to
your lilo command line.)
e questo forse ti potrebbe tornare comodo nel caso tu debba usare un
kernel stock.
(apmd comunque pare fatto per laptop, niente a che fare con un desktop)
