Quindi il boot program e` lilo e l'OS e` linux.

I programmi in /sbin non servono per bootare la macchina.
Per fare il boot serve solo il sistema operativo, che successivamente
lancia init, ma che potrebbe lanciare qualsiasi altro programma.
lilo ha un'opzione init=xxx, con cui tu puoi comunicare a linux cosa
vuoi che venga eseguito e potresti far partire un qualsiasi programma
scritto da te (quindi anche una cosa non GNU).
